The only way I could stop it from happening was to remove the integration for now. Even weirder, the duplicated tasks do NOT have the GCAL tag on them, instead being otherwise-blank duplicates of the correct name with automatically-added dates and times. Interestingly, these duplicated tasks seem to follow the default 1hr time blocking, and spill over from the day of original creation into the following days and weeks, until it finally gives up and stops at some point. I had the gcal integration set up with default settings (sync tasks to gcal, sync gcal-added events to todoist, 1hr time blocking default, etc).
